Mountain Dew Snowground Zero 2006 [en] preview

This winter Mountain Dew and H2O Sport Events launch in Romania a new Snowpark, Snowboarding Championship and Workshops. From now until the beginning of spring you and you board will be inseparable even in the city.

Mountain Dew Snowground Zero is a concept that includes a Snowpark in Predeal Resort, Freestyle Snowboarding Championship in Predeal Resort and Bucharest and snowboarding workshops.
The Predeal Snowpark it’s been built from head to toe by H2O and it will be open all through the winter starting from the 15th of January until the beginning of March. The Park is located o­n the inferior side of Clabucet alternative slope, its design allows for 5 types of runs built out of rails and kickers. A part of the Snowboarding Championships and the workshops will be held here.

The Snowboarding Championship will consist of 6 stages of wich 4 will be held in the Predeal Snowpark and 2 in Bucharest. The Bucharest stages will continue the 2005 and 2006 Mountain Dew City Slide events. This season will host not o­nly o­ne MD City Slide event, but 2, o­ne of which will take place at Sector #1 City Hall and the other at The National Theatre.

Competition dates of Mountain Dew Snowground Zero 2007:20th of January stage 1, Predeal Resort, rails session27th of January stage 2, Forum Youngblood, Predeal Resort, Romania stage of Forum Youngblood international event (juniors)9th of February stage 3, Mountain Dew City Slide III, Bucharest10th of February stage 4, Predeal Resort, kickers session23 of February stage 5, Mountain Dew City Slide IV, Bucharest24 of February stage 6, Freakstyle III, Predeal Resort, the Snowboarding Championship finals.

Depending o­n the snow conditions, the dates of competition may change, so regulary check the h2o website.

During The Championship the riders will acumulate points, so the best 15 Romanian riders will go o­n to the finals. 5 wildcards will be provided for the foreign riders.
The amount of prices will overcome 10.ooo euros cash and goods.

The snowboarding workshops will be held in the Predeal Snowpark in the 2 free competitions weekends. Two of the best Romanian riders of which Tudor Cristea, member of H2O Supported Riders and Vladimir Brezovszki will give free freestyle lessons. The workshops will be held o­n 3th, 4th, 17th, 18th of February and the participants will be sellected and informed through this website.
